Colorado RallyCross

Welcome to Colorado RallyCross!  What is RallyCross?  Think of it as autocross gone wild.  Instead of a paved parking lot, we race on gravel or dirt under all types of conditions—dust, more dust, mud, rain, snow, ice, wind, and even darkness.  If you’re new to RallyCross, check out our website for more information about the most exciting entry-level motorsport on the planet!  If you’re a RallyCross veteran, be sure to mark this year’s events on your calendar.  We hope to see you at the next event!

** This thread discusses the content article: The 2012 CO R-X Schedule: Read It, Know It, Live It! **

Time to get your game face on--the Official 2012 Colorado RallyCross schedule is here! This season promises to be the best yet, with 12 dirt-packed events on the calendar. Here’s the important stuff:

  • Season results will be based on your best nine (9) finishes in class. To qualify for a season award spot, you’ll need to complete at least seven (7) events in one class.
  • The SCCA National Championship is tentatively on the calendar as a points event. With no Utah National Challenge event this season, the national championship is our only out-of-state event. We know this event can be kinda pricey for some folks and the travel distance is significant, so we’re considering counting the national championship event as double points (equal to two events). That way, you can spend your coin on going head-to-head at the national level, get double points for participating and drop the expense of one local event if needed. Please share your feedback on this proposal with This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
  • Entry fees will increase by $5 to $40 for SCCA members and $45 for non-members (includes a one-day SCCA membership). We’ve been able to avoid a price increase for several years, but site fees continue to climb. Still cheap at twice the price! Where else can you have this much fun and not risk going to jail?
  • Same as always, online registration will open prior to the event and close at 7:00 PM MST on the Thursday before the event. Register online--it saves time at the event and there’s no penalty if you’re a no-show.
  • We also looked at event sites in Winter Park and Steamboat Springs for this season, but insurance and cost concerns made these locations impractical. We’re always on the lookout for new racing venues, so please let the Series Chairman know if you have any suggested sites. And mega kubos, er… kudos to our Series Chairman Ryan Sealey for putting together this year’s schedule.
