Colorado RallyCross

Welcome to Colorado RallyCross!  What is RallyCross?  Think of it as autocross gone wild.  Instead of a paved parking lot, we race on gravel or dirt under all types of conditions—dust, more dust, mud, rain, snow, ice, wind, and even darkness.  If you’re new to RallyCross, check out our website for more information about the most exciting entry-level motorsport on the planet!  If you’re a RallyCross veteran, be sure to mark this year’s events on your calendar.  We hope to see you at the next event!

MID-SEASON UPDATE 6 years, 6 months ago #936

** This thread discusses the content article: MID-SEASON UPDATE **

After a short recess for the Global Rallycross Last Chance event at PPIR and the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, the Colorado RallyCross season resumes with Event #5 at Pueblo Motorsports Park on Saturday, July 9, followed by Event # 6 at C.O.R.E. on July 30.  If past seasons are a good indicator, Pueblo promises to be feverishly hot and dusty, so bring plenty of water, sunscreen and shade.  The Pueblo event will be run on the large gravel pad adjacent to the road course; watch for signs and rallycross cars approximately one mile from the main entrance.  Short Stop will be on hand with plenty of breakfast burritos, burgers, brats and ice-cold drinks. And look for the inaugural appearance of the new CO R-X equipment van!

Please be sure to pre-register for Event #5 using the registration tab above.  Saves time and let's us start racing sooner.  And there's no penalty if you pre-register but aren't able to attend.

In other news, Colorado R-X will host the SCCA National Challenge event on the weekend of August 20-21.  There was some discussion about moving the event to C.O.R.E., but after further review, the event will take place at the U.S. Truck Driving School in Fountain.  We'll need plenty of volunteers to put together another high-quality national event, so please plan to volunteer.  Watch for more details soon.

And it's official:  the 2011 SCCA RallyCross National Championship will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  After access to the I-80 site near Lincoln, Nebraska, was lost due to the sale of the property, the SCCA RallyCross Board recently secured the new site in Oklahoma.  The event will take place at Tulsa Raceway Park the weekend of October 7-9.  Tulsa is a one-day drive for most Colorado residents, so we hope to have a spectacular turnout of CO R-X competitors to take home plenty of championship trophies.
